These notices appear in full at the foot of every email sent by the firm. They cover confidentiality, banking-fraud risk, and the limits of email correspondence.
1. Confidentiality & legal privilege
Emails from this firm, including any attachments, are confidential and may be legally privileged. They are intended only for the named recipient. If you have received one in error, please tell the sender and delete it — do not read, copy or act on the contents. Any disclosure or use by an unintended recipient is prohibited.
2. Banking-details fraud
We will never notify you of a change to our banking details by email. Any such email should be treated as fraud. Before making any payment to us, please confirm our account details by phone with the attorney handling your matter on +27 21 330 5757. We will not be liable for any payment made on the basis of emailed banking details that have not been separately verified.
3. No attorney–client relationship
Exchanging emails with us does not create an attorney–client relationship. Please do not send us confidential or privileged information until we have agreed a mandate in writing.
4. Liability
We take reasonable steps to ensure our emails are free of viruses and other defects, but we cannot guarantee this. Please satisfy yourself before acting on any email or attachment from us.
